Photographs and lewis hine
Lewis Hine played an important role in helping to stop child labor and the developing of the Keating-Owen Act. He was a man hired by the National Child Labor Committee to go sneak into factories and mills to take pictures of the children working there. For many years, he went around taking pictures of all the child workers and their poor working conditions. His photos alerted the public that child labor deprived children of their education and childhoods.
Lewis Hine's photography made people realize that they needed to fight for stricter child labor rules. He also encouraged the public to make attacks against factories and other places that used child labor. One of the most famous attacks was from the novel Oliver Twist which was about an orphaned boy working in factories.
